2017 Lions Publican Walk on Dover waterfront. Ten pubs turned out for Dover Lions Club’s annual publicans’ Charity walk along the seafront. The walk, now in its 44th year, was again magnificently supported with many in fancy dress.
2017 Opening of Dover’s New Lidl Store at Honeywood Parkway in Whitfield as excited crowds rush in to take shelter from Storm Caroline. Excited bargain hunters congregated outside around an hour before its official opening.
2017 Remembrance Sunday in Dover, UK included a parade, a knitted poppy appeal, and other commemorations. The events honoured fallen war heroes and marked the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
2017 Port of Dover Community Regatta RLNI display
2017 The Port of Dover Community Regatta was hailed a success with a turnout of about 10,000 people.There was glorious weather during Sunday’s event at the town’s seafront.There was a mock yacht rescue by Dover Walmer RNLI, as well as formation flights, victory rolls and loop-the-loops by Spitfires from the Old Flying Machine Company. The event had more than 90 stalls and more than 80 vintage vehicles provided by Dover Transport Museum. Adult team winners in the Port Dash boat race were a group from Dover Harbour Board, the Wacky Racers. Dover 2 from Dover Rugby Club came second and another DHB team, Spanner and Shovels, came third.
